About time last year, we were wandering around the Christmas markets in Munich and Prague.
Thus, when my cousin Patricia sent me some pictures of her outdoor Christmas Market discoveries in various parts of Zurich in Switzerland – where she is currently on assignment, I bugged her for more.
There is nothing quite like the smell of sweet pastries, mulled wine and roasting chestnuts permeating the air, as you watch the twinkling lights sparkle as an early winter evening sets in.
That’s all the motivation you need for that much needed kick-in-the butt to get out of bed, and warm covers on cold winter mornings and explore the city you are in – wherever you are.
Thank you Patricia Jasudason for the pictures from Zurich.
Below are also some of my favourite Christmas market scenes from Germany and the Czech Republic from my own collection.
